The dictionary states that family is a basic social group consisting of parents and their children. As I celebrated Family day weekend I pondered what family means to me. To me it means love and connection with others. A genuine concern and regard for others. Family is the people we choose to spend time with, enjoy being with. It's not just the people we are connected to biologically but the people we are connected to emotionally. I consider my family to be immense - filled with both family and friends that I spend time with regularly, that are there for me and support me when needed and who I support, who I think of often, who make me smile when I see them, and impact my life in a positive way. I celebrate these people not just once a year but daily as I reflect on my blessings.
